At 1:32 pm in the gymnasium of the prison, Don Antigeo landed punches to the speed bag at a rapid pace as the rhythm of the flickering sound relaxed his mind. A strong sweat raced down his body as he began to find his old groove. He spotted Nasir from the corner of his eye making his way across the floor through a small group of people and he was headed in his direction. The Don changed his vision to the clock above him and thought, “He has been in there for almost three hours.”

Switching up hands without missing a beat, Don Antigeo at the age of fifty moved like he was still in his thirties as he bobbed and weaved his head around the bag while still throwing punches. “Easy, Don, you’ve been working so hard lately. I just knew I would find you here.”

Don Antigeo threw several more punches before deciding to answer, “Yes I have, because I too will be leaving in two weeks and then we will be faced with the battle of our lives. So it’s important to be prepared.” He moved from the speed bag to the punching bag while asking, “How did the counsel meet go?”

Don Antigeo proceeded to work the bag from the top to the bottom when Nasir’s next question stopped him in his tracks. “You mean like Mr. Holmes?” And with a smile Don Antigeo ripped the gloves from his sore hands, looking Nasir straight in the eyes and asked, “Are you sure you want to know the rest of the story?”

“Yes, I read the case law you gave me and I’ve learned that a person must trust someone in life, because if Alberto would have trusted his sister he wouldn’t have come to jail for life and I believe Roc trusted Mr. Holmes. So I must know to understand Mr. Holmes’s mistake.”

“Fair enough,” Don Antigeo replied reaching for a pair of boxing gloves from the wall. He tossed them to Nasir, “Let’s hit the ring.”

Hesitant, Nasir said, “Are you sure?”

“Why not? It’s only a little bit of pain.” The two tapped gloves with the Don throwing a quick right jab as he jumped back into the story…

Roc was upstairs in the first brownstone he bought his mother, standing on the back balcony wearing a tailor made double breasted suit. With only the sweet mild sound of birds singing and a cool breeze blowing againsthis back, Roc witnessed the unique beauty of his city. He loved the fact that on the outside it seemed so calm and peaceful like any other day. But he
